Facilities Overview

In 1995 The SSI Commercial Spaceport became a reality when the U.S. Air Force awarded a 25 year lease which included a payload processing facility and more than 100 acres of land for commercial launch facility construction.

Integrated Processing Facility (IPF)

The Integrated Processing Facility was built for the Space Shuttle Program at a cost in excess of $300M. The building was designed to process three shuttle-class payloads simultaneously. Today, payload processing activities are occurring on a regular basis. The IPF can also support booster processing and administrative activities.

The CLF has been constructed to provide a clean pad approach that is highly flexible, with a capability to accommodate multiple launch vehicle configurations.  Currently the CLF is configured to support solid propellant vehicles.

The CLF can accommodate a wide variety of launch vehicles including MMII and Castor 120 based vehicles, through Delta II class.
