The 100,000 clean environment is provided by an external HVAC unit on the ground level of the MAT. Ducting runs up the MAT and splits to provide air to the north side of each platform level and to the north side of North Clean Area.  Air flows north-to-south and is returned to the HVAC unit at the base of the tower. A separate duct splits from the main supply, runs through its own HEPA filter and feeds the clean tent with 1K air.
